Predictions for Big Ten bowl games.

Thomas Scurlock smoked me predicting Big Ten games this season and even came back to edge me in Ohio State predictions. But with the time off I am energized and ready to get him with our Big Ten bowl game predictions.

Here we go, and as usual I’ll let Tom get things started.

TS  The 2017 season is coming to a close, but not before Charlie and I have one more head-to-head on Big Ten predictions.

Ohio State getting snubbed by the College Football Playoff Committee will benefit the Big Ten in bowl games.

The conference has sent the wrong team to the playoff the last two years disrupting a favorable bowl schedule.

Not this year.

The Big Ten has solid match ups and should finish no less than 6-2 if the teams play well.

I expect to head into the off-season on a winning streak against Charlie.  He can‘t handle the truth that I know the Big Ten better than he does.  At least I think I do.  Here it goes.

Ohio State vs. USC

All signs point to this being an epic game.  Historic rivals clashing again, only in Texas instead of Pasadena.

Both teams aspired to make the playoff.  The committee failed miserably by selecting two SEC teams.

Will this deflate either team?  I don’t think it will.

The Buckeyes are the better team. The only question is will they prove it?

I expect this to be a back and forth, high scoring game.  J.T Barrett will engineer a late drive to pull the Buckeyes ahead and the defense will get a stop to win the game 38-35.

CL  Ohio State vs. USC is definitely one of the more intriguing matchups of any bowl game this season. I have watched the two programs go at it so many times in the 50 years I have followed Ohio State and the games are always interesting.

Each team is loaded with talent so expect to see big plays especially early on. The only question is can the young talent on the Trojans hang with the Buckeyes for four quarters. I don’t think so.

I see a battle early on and then Ohio State pulls away.
