College Fantasy Football: Must Starts and Sits for Week 5
By Griffin Hill
Must Starts and Must Sits for your College Football Fantasy team week 5.
It’s week 5 and the football season is rolling! I hope many of you are 4-0 in your College Fantasy football leagues, but if like me you aren’t don’t fret, there is plenty of time left in the season. So let’s make up some ground week 5 and make sure you get that win.
MUST STARTS:
J.K Dobbins- Your Ohio State Buckeyes
I love J.K Dobbins, and he is really the only offensive player for the Bucks that has showed me anything this year to celebrate. Dobbins, fresh off yet another stellar performance, had his Heisman trophy odds raise to 40-1 this week, and the young man has gained a lot of national attention.
Obviously at a program like Ohio State, when you are playing well you are going to be compared to past Buckeye greats. Whether he is “The next Zeke” or “A little Maurice Clarett” is unknown yet, but he is without a doubt something special.
I think he has solidified his spot as the top back on the offense and will have another amazing performance week 5 against a weak Rutgers defense. Buckeyes get another win and Dobbins will lead the way, he should be becoming someone you can trust to start week in and week out.
Saquon Barkley- Penn State
Yes, another BIG Ten running back in another BIG Ten matchup. This time its Saquon Barkley taking on the Hoosiers from Indiana. Barkley has turned into my pick to win the Heisman and believe he is the most talented offensive player in the country.
While starting Barkley may seem like an obvious move, conference opponents may scare you. Do not let any defense effect your starting Barkley…. he will tear them all apart.
Barkley is simply one of the most elusive players in the nation and has shredded tackles week in and week out. The linebackers from Indiana are young and inexperienced, which is just a formula for disaster Saturday.
Barkley will torch the Hoosier defense and I predict him to go for over 200 yards yet again, and find his way into the land of six at least twice.
OrTre Smith- South Carolina
OrTre Smith is stepping up to replace the best offensive player the Gamecocks had in Deebo Samuel, and I fully believe he has the capability to exceed expectations. Samuel, who was one of the top wideout threats in the country is out with an injury yet again, but I do not believe that will slow down South Carolinas offense… because of Mr. OrTre Smith.
Smith, a 6’4 animal, has played in the last two games and found the end zone twice; however, he just hasn’t exploded yet. A favorable matchup this week against a terrible defense in Texas A&M will provide Smith with an opportunity to go all out, and I think he will do just that.
I think Smith will have his first career 100-yard performance and score once again. With South Carolina playing an opponent as weak as A&M, they will probably score 30-40 points providing a lot of opportunities for Smith to show his stuff.
This is a young kid with a lot of talent and he is a must start this week.
