Ohio State Football: 5 takeaways on offense from big win over UNLV
On Saturday, Ohio State dismantled UNLV and the offense looked absolutely unstoppable.
This is the Ohio State offense we were expecting to see all season. With this comes some overreactions, but then again, who doesn’t love a good overreaction every once in a while? Well, let’s dive right in!
KJ Hill is the Buckeye’s best receiver:
Coming off of a career game against Army, Hill hauled in 8 receptions for 74 yards and had a great connection with JT Barrett. He followed that up with another good game against UNLV hauling in 3 receptions for 53 yards and his first touchdown on the season.
Although Hill is listed as an H-Back on the Buckeye’s depth chart, he often is split out wide alongside true receivers such as Austin Mack and Binjimen Victor more so than in the slot or in the backfield. Hill also has all of the tools to be a great receiver, great hands, burner speed, nice size, and tons of athleticism.
These tools have been on display the past few games as he has played outstanding, and he has shown that he is the Buckeyes most talented receiver. If KJ Hill continues to get opportunities, he will continue to put up great numbers, and will be one of the best receivers in the country. He has the potential to take Ohio State’s offense to the next level.
