Here we go; the one we’ve pretty much been waiting for since New Year’s Eve, 2016. When No. 5 Oklahoma hits the turf of Ohio Stadium, any rational Buckeye fan may want to find something to hold, because this one might get weird.

While I talked about JT Barrett in my own article this week, I’m looking at a pair of runners to make their difference in this one. In the pairing against the Indiana Hoosiers, JK Dobbins found 181 yards on 29 carries, Barrett even added 61 yards on 13 carries. However, I’m looking for a big game out of Mike Weber Jr.

After sitting the match-up against Indiana with a hamstring issue, Weber is back in scarlet as the Sooners roll into Columbus. Last season against Oklahoma, Weber rushed 18 times for 123 yards, which is a pretty unbelievable total, considering he was just a freshman.

The dynamic between Weber and Dobbins, as in mixing their carries will be an unprecedented offensive weapon for OC Kevin Wilson.

Against the Indiana Hoosiers, the Ohio State Buckeyes were only the better team on the field for about a quarter-and-a-half. While they looked horrendous for the other portion of the match-up they looked like they’d beat Alabama by two touchdowns if they could replicate their play for four quarters.

Defensively, it looks like the pass rush would make escape Tom Brady clamor in his boots. True to form, with the pick-your-poison of Tyquan Lewis, Nick Bosa, Sam Hubbard, Jalen Holmes, etc., there shouldn’t be any problem putting pressure on Oklahoma rifleman Baker Mayfield.

Since their pairing with the Sooners in Norman, OK last season, we really haven’t seen Urban Meyer’s squad play a complete football game; flipping that narrative will be imperative against a vengeful bunch of Oklahoma Sooners.

In the end, it’s going to be a game of stamina, which the Buckeyes to very well, or at least they have under Urban Meyer. After three-plus quarters of back and forth football, No. 2 Ohio State takes a 37-28 victory over No. 5 Oklahoma.
