The Pac 12 situation is interesting to say the least. The AP voters have these four teams ranked in the top 25.

  • 4. USC
  • 8. Washington
  • 14. Stanford
  • 24. Washington State

Most have USC and Washington playing in the Pac 12 Championship Game with the winner earning a bid to the four team playoff. That was my initial thought as well.

But after looking at their schedules I’m not so sure. Although USC and Washington don’t play each other during the regular season, they each play Stanford and Washington State.

And there is always a possibility of an upset in another conference game as well. This could be a year where a very talented Pac 12 champion is left out of the playoff mix with two losses.

The Pac 12 situation will be fun to watch this season.
