Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year

Candidates for this award will be Barrett, McSorely, Speight and Northwestern’s Clayton Thorson.  Darkhorses are Purdue’s David Blough and Indiana’s Richard Lagow.

Despite losing his favorite target to the NFL, this is McSorely’s award to lose.  Not only does Penn State return the Big Ten’s best offensive line, it also returns plenty of weapons.  The threat of Barkley will open up the passing game and McSorley will easily pass for over 4000 yards.

Barrett won this award in 2014 after passing for 34 touchdowns. He will own all of Ohio State’s quarterback records this season, but his path to winning this award lies in finding a way to stretch the field to maximize his potential.

Pick:  McSorley
