5. The SEC will produce 5 top 10 teams going into Bowl Season

The SEC has been a whole different animal the last 20 years and one the rest of the Power 5 Conferences had quite frankly been unable to contain. I see Alabama as the New England Patriots of the college football world, a team that year in and year out is simply on an entire different level than all other teams.

The Crimson Tide has owned this island as the ruler of college football for years and I don’t see that changing. With Alabama a guaranteed top 10 team, I only need four more to prove half the pack could be from down South.

I think the other automatic top 10 is going to be LSU. The Tigers have the best running back and possibly the best offensive line in college football. And with defensive back university still on air traffic control, I think they will hover the four-seven spot all season long.

Another team I think that will be in the top ten (based off record) will be Florida. The long-time dominant Gators are climbing back into national discussion and I like to think their offense will get them to at least 10 wins.

The last two teams will fill two of the last three spots in the top 10, Auburn and Georgia. Auburn has been my dark horse to make the playoff all offseason, and I stand by that but even if I don’t think the Tigers are still going to be one of the nation’s top 10 teams.

Georgia scares me, I think their season could go very well, or very poorly. The direction in which the Bulldogs’ season goes simply depends of the health and production of running back Nick Chubb, but banking on that is risky.

If someone will be the 5th SEC team in the top ten it is going to be Georgia, but I am not as confident in them as I am in the others to slide in. The SEC will run the show this year, they will just hope they don’t beat up on each other too much to knock themselves all out of the hunt.
