The offensive backfield in the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class is loaded with talent.

Urban Meyer is loading up every position group in his 2018 Ohio State recruiting class and is on pace to break the overall player average record for the second straight year. There are extremely talented players on both sides of the ball, but the offensive backfield unit may be the envy of every college coach in the country.

I think any coach running a spread offense would want one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the country. Wouldn’t the No 4 running back and the 2nd best all-purpose back be coveted by everyone. I also think most coaches would love to have a running back who has posted a sub 4.4 in the 40 as well.

Urban Meyer has all of those players, not just one. Let’s take a look at those guys beginning with the QB.

Emory Jones  6-2.5, 195 pounds

Jones is a pass first run second quarterback that Urban Meyer loves. He has a strong-arm and is very athletic.

Jones is the No. 2 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the No. 28 player overall according to the 247Sports Composite. He was invited to the prestigious quarterback camp the ‘Elite 11’ this year as well.

Even though the Ohio State locker room is filled will talented quarterbacks, and every southern school seems to be attempting to keep him close to his home in Franklin, GA, Jones hasn’t wavered on his commitment to play for the Buckeyes. He has the potential to become an outstanding QB in Urban Meyer’s offense.

Now check out the two running backs in the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class. See if one of them doesn’t remind you of a younger version of a former Buckeye running back who now wears a Dallas Cowboy uniform.
