Before Bobby Bowden became the head coach for Florida State in the 1970s, the Seminoles’ claim to fame when it came to football was the great wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff and a movie star named Burt Reynolds who was once a member of the football team. Bowden certainly changed that, and for good.

He first developed a high powered passing attack that attracted talented recruits. He would also play any team and anywhere to promote the Florida State brand. His legacy continues as coach Jimbo Fisher is doing a terrific job after taking over for coach Bowden.
