All-Decade Ohio State Football Dream Team (2005-2015)
By Billy George
Center: Nick Mangold (2003-05)
Nick Mangold’s resume doesn’t touch base on how good he actually was. Nevertheless, he was a three-year starter at center for the Buckeyes, starting in 33 of his 45 career games. He earned All-Big Ten Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2004, and was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2005. After a tremendous performance at the 2006 Senior Bowl, Mangold was widely regarded as the top center available in the 2006 NFL Draft.
Since then Mangold has been the anchor of the New York Jets offensive line, where he made the NFL All-Rookie Team (2006), was a first-team All-Pro (2009, 2010), a three-time Sporting News All-Pro (2009–2011), and a seven-time Pro Bowl selection (2008–2011, 2013–2015)
