All-Decade Ohio State Football Dream Team (2005-2015)
By Billy George
Left Tackle: Alex Boone (2006-08)
Boone can be described as a flat out bully on the offensive line, and he was a big (no pun intended) reason why running back Chris “Beanie” Wells had so much success at Ohio State. In fact, it was Boone whose key block sprung wells to this 65-yard-TD run versus LSU in the 2007-08 BCS national title game.
Being named a starter as a sophomore, Boone brought a certain toughness to the left tackle position that it hadn’t seen in a while. His efforts led him to be a second-team all-Big Ten performer in 2007 and a first-team one in 2008.
