Cornerback No. 1: Malcolm Jenkins (2005-08)

When it comes to lock-down corners, Malcolm Jenkins was as good as they get. Playing his career alongside all-time great Buckeye linebacker James Laurinaitis, Jenkins help anchor a respectable defense that was a big part of why he won four Big Ten championships in his four-year career in the scarlet and gray.

In 2006 he started all 13 games at corner and was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection, finishing the season with 55 tackles and four interceptions. He had similar numbers as a junior in 2007 and was named a first team All-American by Pro Football Weekly, and a first team All-Big Ten selection for the second consecutive year. As a senior in 2008 he won the Jim Thorpe Award, which is given to the nation’s best defensive back, and he finished his career with 11 interceptions.

Here are his individual awards/acknowledgments at OSU: Thorpe Award (2008), Consensus All-American (2008), Second-team All-American (2007), First-team All-Big Ten (2006, 2007, 2008).
