Ranking Ohio State’s 2016 Schedule and Why it is Among the Toughest
Oklahoma
This game will gauge whether the Buckeyes are reloading or rebuilding. No one doubts that the talent is there to replace all of the stars from last year. We just need to see if they are ready to play on the road against a preseason favorite for the college football playoff. And the Sooners are led by a Heisman candidate quarterback and a coach that has lost just five games at home in 17 seasons.
Between the wins, national titles, Hall of Fame coaches and Heisman Trophy winners, it is shame these two programs are playing for just the third time. The only thing that could derail the shine from this game is if Houston pulls the upset over the Sooners in week one.
I doubt that happens. This game has classic written all over it. J.T. Barrett and Baker Mayfield will both deliver.
Hard to call this a definite knockout game unless one team gets blown out, but the loser has a lot of work to do to get back into the CFP race.
