2017 Ohio State Recruiting Class Off To Spectacular Start
By Dillon Davis
Two positions that do not currently have a commitment in the class, but will be addressed soon enough, are the defensive end and wide receiver positions.
After taking two defensive ends in last year’s class, Urban Meyer figures to be very selective on who he might take in the 2017 class. That means that if you see a defensive end commit to this class, he will likely be an elite talent that no coach, regardless of the numbers game, can ever turn away.
Possibly the most likely option for the Buckeyes right now is Joshua Kaindoh. He is another elite prospect at the IMG Academy, where the Buckeyes have certainly had plenty of success.
Kaindoh is the number one ranked weak side defensive end and the 21st ranked prospect in the entire country. At 6’6″ 250 pounds, Kaindoh looks like an absolute monster. He is explosive off of the ball and has a relentless motor.
While he is going to finish his high school career down in Bradenton, Florida, Kaindoh is originally from the the Washington D.C. area. The usual suspects are involved for a kid from the DMV area, including Penn State and Maryland. Alabama and Notre Dame are also in on him, but for now it appears to be a three team race.
Kaindoh is also expected to be an early enrollee, so a decision from him could come in the summer. Steve Wiltfong, who is the director of recruiting at 247, gave his crystal ball prediction in favor of the Buckeyes last week.
