Ohio State Recruiting: Your 2016 Buckeyes Class
By Dillon Davis
Malik Harrison- Walnut Ridge (Columbus, OH)
Size: 6’4″- 215 lbs.
Position: ATH (#49 ATH, 3 stars)
Harrison was always going to be a Buckeye. At least, that is what he always envisioned. But as offers began to come in, he found himself still waiting for the offer he had dreamed of for so long.
It finally came in early December, and most thought he would jump on it immediately. He already held offers from Michigan State, Wisconsin, and several other Big Ten schools. But he found himself waiting and waiting, giving the Buckeyes every chance to come calling.
So when no immediate decision was made following the offer, it left some scratching their heads. As it turns out, it was much ado about nothing. While he waited until National Signing Day to let it be known, he knew where his heart was.
Harrison is a true athlete, and he has made it no secret that he wants to play receiver. He’ll get his shot, but if it doesn’t pan out, he can move to the other side of the ball and play linebacker.
He is going to need to add some weight to his frame, and you can bet that Coach Mick will do just that.
It is hard to project when Harrison might find playing time, considering he is coming to Ohio State without a true position. But Urban Meyer knows how to use athletes, and as Harrison’s body develops, he will find a way to make an impact.
