In three seasons playing for the Buckeyes David Boston rewrote the record book for Ohio State receiving. His freshman season Boston caught 33 passes for 805 yards, and his touchdown reception with 19 seconds remaining in the 1997 Rose Bowl was the game winning score. That was just a preview of things to come.

His sophomore season Boston caught an Ohio State record 73 passes, and his 970 yards were the third most ever by a Buckeye, behind only Terry Glenn and Cris Carter. He also had 14 touchdown receptions in the 1997 season, and was named first team All Big Ten.

In 1998 Boston set Ohio State records in receptions and receiving yards that stand to this day. His 85 catches for 1435 yards earned him first team All-American honors. Following his junior season his career total stood at 191 catches which is still an Ohio State record, and his 2,855 yards receiving has only been passed by Michael Jenkins.

David Boston still holds seven Ohio State receiving records, including the most receptions in a game, season, and career. His 34 touchdown receptions is the most by a Buckeye as well. Boston was selected to the Ohio State Football All-Century Team in 2000.

After the 1998 season Boston opted to turn pro and was selected number eight overall by the Arizona Cardinals. He played several years in the NFL and was selected All-Pro following the 2001 season when he led the NFL in receiving yards.
