#3 2015 National Championship

Ohio State’s 2014 College Football Playoff run will go down as one of the greatest finishes to a season of all time. It was the first year of the playoff, and the Buckeyes provided more drama then anyone could have hoped for; immediately validating the need to include more than just the top two teams in the championship picture.

When Ohio State faced off against the Ducks and Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mariota, they were again up against a high powered Oregon offense. Mariota threw for two touchdowns, but was otherwise bottled up by the Buckeye defense.

Led by Ezekiel Elliott, who finished with 246 yards and four touchdowns, Ohio State was able to overcome a few turnovers by Cardale Jones and won the game in blowout fashion. The Buckeyes were national champions under Urban Meyer.
