Ezekiel Elliott will be remembered as one of the great running backs in Ohio State history. Not just because of his rushing totals, but because his impact in the title run during the 2014 season. His three straight 200 yard games will be talked about forever. But where would Zeke be on the list of great Buckeye running backs.

Ohio State has had as many great running backs as any other team in college football. There have been All-American fullbacks and halfbacks who won the Heisman Trophy playing in the T formation, but it’s difficult to compare Zeke to the players in that era. When coach Woody Hayes changed to an I formation with a feature back, individual rushing totals rose dramatically. So we will only look at the running backs that have played since then.

We will take a look at the top five running backs in career rushing yardage for Ohio State entering the 2015 season. So let’s give a salute to these stars from the past, and see how Zeke compares with some of the Buckeye greats. Starting with….
