Nick Vannett, a fifth year senior, played in the shadows of tight end Jeff Heuerman until his junior season. With Heuerman battling injuries throughout the season, Vannett saw increased playing time and had 21 receptions.

With their production in the passing game in addition to being excellent blockers, Vannett and Heuerman became one of the best tight end tandems in the nation. This season Vannett has been productive again, especially at run blocking, and has been mentoring sophomore Marcus Baugh as well. He could be an important factor in the passing game at the end of the season, and that may be needed if the Buckeyes are to repeat as National Champions.

What can you say about Braxton Miller? He is one of the most electrifying players in the history of college football.

From the time he took over as quarterback for the Buckeyes in his freshman season, Braxton was must see TV. Even though Ohio State struggled that season, you had to watch every game just to see what kind of play, or plays, this young guy was going to make.

In his sophomore season Braxton thrived in Urban Meyers offense. He threw for 2,039 yards and 15 touchdowns, and ran for 1,271 yards and 13 TDs. He was voted the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year to go along with his Freshman of the Year award the previous season.

He repeated as Offensive Player of the Year his junior season while throwing for 2,094 yards and 24 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,068 yards and 12 TDs.

Before the 2014 season he was the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy before a shoulder injury ended his season before it started. Many fans thought it would be the last time they would see Braxton wearing Scarlet and Gray.

But no, he just switched positions, and allowed Ohio State fans to enjoy more electrifying plays. And they are glad he did.

That’s why Buckeye fans love Braxton. He is a loyal teammate, loyal to the fans, and to the Ohio State University. That, and the fact he possibly has made more unbelievable plays than anyone else in college football history. Braxton Miller will be remembered as one of the greatest Buckeye football players ever.

There will be other Seniors who will be making their final walk onto the field Saturday. To them, I just want to say thank you, and good luck. And remember you are part of one of the greatest classes ever at Ohio State.

These seniors have won three consecutive East Division Titles and one Big Ten Championship. Thay won 24 straight games one time before, and are currently on a 23 game win streak, a 17 game road winning streak, and have won 30 straight conference regular season games.

They have won more games than any other class in Ohio State history, and their 48 – 3 record is the best in the nation during that time.

But more importantly they brought Ohio State back to where it needs to be, at the top of the mountain in college football. And they are the defending National Champions.
