Tight Ends

Grade: B+

The tight ends aren’t going to factor into the receiving game much for the Buckeyes. Ohio State has too many weapons for them to use their tight ends extensively. That doesn’t mean they don’t serve a valuable purpose. Nick Vannett was the only tight end featured in the passing game and finished with one catch for 11 yards.

The tight ends bigger purpose on the team is to block, and as we pointed out earlier, Ohio State did an exceptional job of opening up running lanes and protecting Jones and Barrett. The tight ends certainly deserve credit for that as well.
