The special teams were certainly the weakest link for the Buckeyes on Monday night. Jack Willoughby missed a makeable field goal and kicked the ball out of bounds on a kickoff. Missed field goals happen every now and then, but there’s never an excuse for kicking the ball out of bounds. That should never happen.
Ezekiel Elliot also muffed a punt in Ohio State territory that led to a Virginia Tech touchdown. I understand he isn’t the normal punt returner, but you can’t give up the ball like that.
