Week 12- Michigan

In a game that needed no extra hype, Ohio State entered it’s last regular season game against Michigan ranked sixth in the country, on the outside looking in with just a few more chances to propel themselves into the top four. Michigan, on the other hand, had already eliminated themselves from bowl game consideration. Their head coach, Brady Hoke, was on the hot seat.

This game will be mostly remembered for the injury to J.T. Barrett that, for the second time in the same season, took a Heisman trophy candidate quarterback away from the Buckeyes.

It was a classic Ohio State versus Michigan match-up where the records didn’t matter. Despite the Buckeyes being heavily favored, the game was tied in the third quarter.

Barrett left the game on the first play of the fourth quarter, and in came future Buckeye legend Cardale Jones to protect a 28-21 lead. The offense had to punt on his first drive, but would score later in the game on a 44-yard Ezekiel Elliott touchdown run.

The Buckeyes put the nail in the coffin when Joey Bosa stripped the ball from Devin Gardner and linebacker Darron Lee picked it up and ran for a touchdown to make it 42-21 with 3:58 left. The Buckeyes would win 42-28.
