Week 11- Indiana
After two costly turnovers that almost lost the game for Ohio State in the previous week against Minnesota, Jalin Marshall had received a lot of heat on social media from angry fans. He would silence the haters just a week later against Indiana.
The Hoosiers, who’s football program has steadily gotten better over the years, came into Ohio Stadium to face the now No. 6 Buckeyes. Ohio State was led by an explosion of big-time plays from Marshall. He returned a punt 54 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and also scored three more touchdowns later in the game.
“It’s very satisfying but I’m not satisfied with the season yet,” Marshall said. “But it does feel good to kind of get that bear off my back, all that negative stuff toward me.”
Minnesota running back David Cobb, a projected third-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, ran all over the Buckeyes for 145 yards and three touchdowns.
J.T. Barrett set the school record for touchdown passes in a season with 33. Ezekiel Elliott had 107 yards on 13 carries, and topped 1,000 yards on the season.
Ohio State trailed the game 20-14 in the third quarter, but managed to ride Marshall to a 42-27 victory.
