The Ohio State football team needs to keep its competitive stamina high.

Ryan Day has been big on the phrase “competitive stamina”. He wants the team to be able to compete at a high level all throughout the season. That means they need to have the stamina to keep that competitiveness high through the big-time matchups and the blowouts.

That’s exactly what the Ohio State football team needs to do on Saturday night. It’s hard to be amped up for a home night game against a MAC opponent. It would be really easy to let your guard down in that kind of atmosphere. But that’s exactly when you get upset.

Day will have to make sure that the Buckeyes stay ready to play all week and all game. If they don’t have the same competitiveness that they showed against Notre Dame and Arkansas State, they risk getting beaten by an inferior team at home.

I don’t think this is something that the Buckeyes will have to worry about too much. This is a very mature team that still has fire in its belly from what happened last year. They know that any slip-up could mean that they miss out on their ultimate goal of winning a national title.

I fully expect the Ohio State Buckeyes to put the pedal to the metal from the moment they step on the field. I think this is the first game that they cover the spread and the offense really starts to click. The defense has been improved already as well.

If Ohio State does all of these things on Saturday night, they will have another blowout win on their resume.
