Ohio State Football: 3 stats that prove OSU is a true contender
By Ryan Stano
Ohio State football gains 559.3 yards per game
No one is gaining more yards per game than the Ohio State football team. They are averaging 559.3 yards per game as a team. That’s a lot of yards. That’s especially impressive given the fact that they do that in the Big Ten where defenses are notoriously stingy.
The Buckeyes have been doing a great job of being very balanced on offense. Being balanced keeps the defense on their toes and makes Ohio State harder to stop. Just how balanced have they been? They average 207 yards on the ground and 352 through the air.
Keeping that balance is paramount to what the Buckeyes want to do. They can spring a big play at a moment’s notice in either phase of the offense. Ohio State’s offense has been so good that it makes you wonder if any defense out there can stop them.
This offense is why the Buckeyes are true national title contenders. When you have such a high-octane offense that is so hard to stop, you become a major threat. This offense is certainly a major threat, and C.J. Stroud and TreVeyon Henderson are big parts of that.
Stroud has been putting up Heisman numbers recently. Henderson was too before his usage rate dipped. As long as both of these players are healthy, there’s no reason why this offense can’t continue to put up these massive numbers,
The next stat that proves the Buckeyes are contenders is once again involved with the offense.
