Ohio State Football: Buckeyes’ most difficult games of 2020
By Alex Austin
Penn State
This is the hardest game on the Buckeyes’ schedule. An away game in Happy Valley is a difficult environment no matter the quality of the opponent.
Enter a Nittany Lions team ranked #8 in some pre-season polls and this is turning into the defacto East Division championship. Penn State should have the offense needed to match Ohio State, and this game will likely come down to which defense can make a stop or two.
Penn State has been the closest competitor to Ohio State over the last few years in the Big Ten, and I expect that to continue in 2020.
Look for the battle between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions to be the best game of the 2020 regular season.
Michigan
This is on the list purely because of the intense rivalry.
We have seen the last few seasons that Michigan is not on the same level as Ohio State, not having the same level of talent, coaching or development. The Wolverines will be breaking in a new starting quarterback while the Buckeyes bring in Heisman favorite Justin Fields.
The game will be in Columbus where the Ohio State football team thrives, and even if no crowd is able to attend will hold the advantage in every area. But it is the greatest rivalry in all of sport so the Buckeyes will always have this game circled.
