Master Teague, running back

Master Teague had a tremendous season as the second tailback behind JK Dobbins. Rushing for 789 yards and four touchdowns, Teague most certainly has the leg up over Marcus Crowley and Steele Chambers for the starting job next season.

Teague also saw game action in the College Football Playoff and that should be valuable experience for him as he moves forward with his Buckeye career. And in a limited back up role, Teague finished seventh in the Big Ten in rushing yards.

With a full season’s worth of touches, and with an experienced offensive line in front of him returning four of five starters, expect to see some massive numbers from Master Teague in 2020.

He showed flashes, especially in the early portion of the season, that he could be an excellent every down back for Ohio State. As the season wore on it seemed that Teague slowed up a bit. Hopefully being able to learn from last season’s experience will be beneficial for Teague to know what is expected from him this season.

And with plenty of time for strength and conditioning this offseason, Teague who is already built like a brick house, should offer Ohio State with a battering ram of a running back with the speed to break away from defenders. Look for some big numbers in terms of rushing and touchdowns from Teague in 2020.
