Ohio State Football: Dwayne Haskins gets his first quality NFL Start
Carlos Hyde | 9 carries, 65 yards, TD
I have said in once before in these articles and I’ll say it again too, Carlos Hyde is quietly having the best year of his NFL career. No one is talking about the job he is doing in filling in for Lamar Miller after being cut by the Browns last season.
Hyde’s great season continued once again last Sunday despite a blowout loss to the Ravens. The sixth-year running back only got nine carries on the day but he definitely made the most of them, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown for the only score the Texans were able to manage.
For the season, Hyde has rushed 158 times for 769 yards and four touchdowns. He is definitely on pace to break 1,000 yards for the first time of his NFL career, especially if the Texans find their way into the playoffs which is very likely considering the division that they play in.
Hyde almost reached 1,000 yards two other times in his career when he was on the 49ers. Once in 2016 when he fell just 12 yards short of the mark and the other coming off the year when he had 938 rushing yards.
Hyde went to the Browns the next season in 2018, and it looked like his career was in the downswing as he was beaten out by Nick Chubb for the starting role midway through the season. This year he seems to be right back where he left off with the 49ers and I am loving every second of it.
