Notre Dame (+1) at Michigan

I don’t give Michigan credit very often, but hanging tough last week against Penn State after falling down 21-0 showed some serious grit.

It was still a loss and that’s really all that matters. The Wolverines need this game or could be in real danger of the season collapsing.

The good news is this is a winnable game for them.  They have equal talent and the home crowd.

The biggest concern I have, other than Jim Harbaugh’s record in these types of games, is Notre Dame was off last week while the Wolverines were locked in a physical battle.  Will Michigan be sluggish?

Turnovers will determine the outcome.  This will be a low scoring game so getting an extra possession, maybe two, will be the deciding factor.

I’ll give the edge to the Wolverines who will score a late field goal to win 24-23.

Next up, an important Big East Division game.
