Jameson Williams: He was a four star recruit but Ohio State was loaded at the wide receiver position. As usual, receivers coach Brian Hartline allowed the freshman to prove he deserved playing time and he did.

He only has two catches in 3 games but one was the 61 TD catch in the Miami game. He and Wilson could be quite a combo going forward.

Cade Stover: Anytime a linebacker is listed at 6 ft.5, 235 pounds, and it’s reported he is athletic as well, I pay attention to the guy. Nice to see he will get plenty of experience as a freshman which will help the LB unit down the road.

More from Ohio State Football

Craig Young: This player intrigued me because he was ranked as the No. 609 overall player in the 2019 recruiting class and the 34th best athlete. Sometimes when an athletic player “recruiting experts” don’t know what position he will play is undervalued.

Urban Meyer was known for finding a football player and then would then find a position for him to play. Apparently coach Day sees something in Young.

Marcus Crowley: This young running back appears to be on a mission. Even though he was named the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year he was only ranked as the No. 26 RB in the recruiting class.

He impressed coaches as an early enrollee, had a nice spring game and so far this season he has carried the ball 11 times for 57 yards and caught a 7 yard touchdown pass.

I’m sure Buckeye fans will enjoy watching these guys on the field the rest of the season.

dark. Next. Can teams challenge OSU, OU and Bama?

Once again, I want to credit Dave Biddle for sharing this info. I was curious to see which freshmen most likely would have their redshirt taken off.
