On the defensive side of the ball Chase Young has been a beast. He has been a disruptor for both the passing and rushing attacks of opposing teams. Through four games he has14 total tackles with 9 of them solo.

He has a big seven sacks accounting for 52 sack yards.  He too will only get better and make a huge impact in bigger games as he is expected to be a top three pick in the NFL Draft when he decides to go to the next level.

That only tells part of the story. Other guys can give him credit for some of their production as well as he garners so much attention it leaves holes open to attack.

The last guy I think definitely deserves to make an appearance here is wide receiver and special teams star Chris Olave.  He impacts the game on the offense side of the ball and grabs the Buckeyes momentum with his play on the ever important special teams unit.

To this point Olave has 13 receptions for 228 yards with a 17.5 average yard per catch clip.  Let’s not forget to add in his four touchdown catches as well.  On special teams every little bit counts.  That includes his two solo tackles credited to him.

And of course we can’t forget the big punt block in the game vs. the Cincinnati Bearcats that resulted in a safety.  Chris burst on the scene last year as he was a huge part of demolishing TTUN and it looks like his star power is here to stay.

His status will keep growing as his name keeps getting called for big plays he will make to help the Buckeyes compete for another Big Ten Championship and a National Title run.

Every single guy we’ve listed is definitely in the running to be considered the team MVP when it’s all said and done.  One of the most beautiful things about being a Buckeye fan, is this list will only get longer as more and more players make their presence known with the amount of talent this program continues to produce year in and year out.

A third of the way through the season and the Buckeyes are ready for the next challenge.  Let’s watch as these guys continue to show out and build their legacies moving forward.
