Comparing Ohio State, Big Ten to Alabama, SEC: Which is the Better Conference?
Shifting focus to the big, bad SEC now. Alabama has done exactly as we’ve expected and rolled their competition so far. Georgia has won impressively, but until the Bulldogs prove they can win the big game against a tier 1 team I will continue to say they are suspect.
Facing Notre Dame next weekend will be another opportunity to gain a respected out of conference win and I believe Georgia wins handily. Auburn came back to beat Oregon in the final minute in Week 1 and LSU defeated Texas as I mentioned earlier, and did so in impressive fashion.
Joe Burrow has officially become a household name, and in my opinion the Heisman front-runner.
Burrow has the Tigers back on the map and they now hold the keys to a very intriguing College Football Playoff discussion. LSU has the best OOC win and still plays Alabama, so the scenario train has been full speed ahead since the game ended in Austin.

Nevertheless, the SEC has had the highest highs so far but also the lowest of lows. Tennessee opened the season with back to back home losses to Georgia State and BYU.
Not to mention teams across the conference also have losses to Wyoming, North Carolina, Memphis and Purdue.
All things considered, right now the SEC is still the best conference in college football, but the Big Ten is not very far behind at all. The margin is thin and closing, especially if Ohio State has anything to say about it.
Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin all look to help shorten the gap, but the Wolverines need to find an identity on offense first. Nebraska is another team with potential that will hang around late in the year with QB Adrian Martinez running the show.
Alabama and LSU are the two best teams in the SEC and Georgia is close behind at No. 3. Texas A&M and Auburn are also good teams. However their schedules are brutal and they will not have the record to contend for any titles. Florida would also be in that class without the injury to QB Feleipe Franks last night.
