No. 2 David Boston

David Boston played in a Buckeye uniform from 1996-1998 and in those three years, he definitely established himself as an all-time great, not only at his position but in Ohio State Football history, period.

Boston’s 1998 season is still the greatest single-season by any receiver in Buckeye history. He recorded 85 catches for 1,435 yards and 13 touchdowns. To put that into perspective, 85 catches is second-best by a Buckeye receiver in a single season, 1,435 yards is still number one for yards in a single season and his 13 touchdowns is 3rd.

That is just the beginning of Boston’s name in the record books. He also holds the 4th spot for catches in a season, the 8th spot for yards in a single season and the 2nd spot for touchdowns in a season.

As far as receptions for a career, Boston is first by a mile with 191. The second placer has 168.

He also ranks second in career receiving yards with 2,855 and is first in career touchdown receptions with 34.

Boston helped to carry John Cooper’s teams and give them some very impressive records. Unfortunately, Boston’s record against Michigan wasn’t as great.

Nonetheless, Boston was an all-time talent for the Scarlet and Gray, one who is deserving of the number two wide receiver in Buckeye history.
