Ohio State Football: Justin Fields vs. 2018 QB room
Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins
After an unexpected yet record breaking season as the starting quarterback, Dwyane Haskins threw for over 4,800 yards and 50 touchdowns. He was also the Rose Bowl MVP.
After the Giants passed up on Haskins for Daniel Jones he will have a chip on his shoulder as he prepares for the start of his rookie season. With experienced veterans such as Case Keenum and Colt McCoy in the wings, it will be an interesting preseason for Jay Gruden and his staff to determine who their starting quarterback will be.

While Keenum and McCoy have NFL experience, Haskins’ pure talent and intangibles may give him the advantage.
With Alex Smith available for mentorship, Haskins will have the ability to learn from him just like 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes did in Kansas City.
The Redskins drafted their franchise quarterback for a reason, so I think Gruden should start Haskins week 1 against the Eagles.
Although there are still quarterback competitions to be won this summer, Day could potentially have four starting quarterbacks in the Power 5 and an NFL starter. Out of this group, Burrow seems to be the frontrunner to have the most successful season.
But, I wouldn’t be surprised if Day and Yurcich set up Fields to be in the position to achieve similar results as Haskins for the Buckeyes this season.
