Ohio State Football: Could this year be similar to 2014 for the Buckeyes?
It goes without saying when in 2014 the playoff committee announced the Buckeyes were the 4th seed the rest was history. Urban Meyer, with the help of Ezekiel Elliott and company, slayed Coach Nick Saban and #1 Alabama and then beat Oregon to capture the 2014 National Championship.

Everything is coming full circle for this 2018 Buckeye team just like the in 2014. Despite both teams having pre-season adversity issues, JT Barrett and Dwayne Haskins started the season with little experience yet both ended up having Heisman type regular seasons.
In both seasons, there was a disappointing loss but ultimately each team rebounded, playing their best at the end of the year for the committee to take notice. Everything that has transpired in 2018, similar to 2014, is all leading up to a #1 Alabama vs #4 Ohio State rematch in the Cotton Bowl to advance to the 2019 National Championship in Santa Clara, California.
Against all odds, the Buckeyes made a historic championship run in 2014. If given the opportunity, expect Urban Meyer and his 2018 team to be hoisting the National Championship Trophy in Levi’s Stadium on January 7th.

The Buckeyes will start their run on Saturday against Northwestern. If the 2014 season is any indication of the potential outcome of this season, Urban Meyer will take care of business and the rest will be history.
