Notre Dame at Northwestern

How does a team that losses to Akron and Duke lead the West in the first week of November?

Easy.  Pat Fitzgerald.

After losing a heartbreaker to Michigan on September, the Wildcats have rattled off four-straight wins beating Michigan State and Wisconsin along the way.

Even more remarkable is the Wildcats are winning without a productive running game.

The Fighting Irish will be motivated to win this game more than normal. A win will give them two over top teams from the Big Ten.

Without a conference championship game on their resume, these wins will be an important factor for the College Football Playoff Invitational Committee to consider should Notre Dame remain undefeated.

I know Buckeye Nation will rooting hard for the upset, but I don’t think it will happen.  Notre Dame’s pass defense is one of the best in the country.

It will slow down Clayton Thorson and the offense will grind out yards and points on the ground.  Notre Dame 31-17.
