4. Clemson

The Clemson Tigers have been a little hard to figure out this season.

One week they look like world beaters and the next they look like a middle tier Power Five team. Last week, they looked like that elite team we have come to expect as they absolutely routed an over matched Wake Forest team.

A lot of people have been jumping Clemson over Notre Dame in their rankings because of this impressive outing and Notre Dame’s less than impressive showing. Those same people might have forgotten that Notre Dame blew out Wake Forest in Ian Book’s first game as the starting quarterback.

Clemson is good though, their defensive line is the best in college football and ranks second in rushing defense as well as sack percentage. Not to mention the Tigers have the 9th best scoring offense in the country, thanks in large to their rushing attack which is second best in the nation led by running back and Heisman dark horse Travis Etienne.

But Clemson still has a bit more to do to convince me I should move them ahead of Notre Dame.
