8. Texas

This week Texas avoided a narrow upset against a generally inferior team. This near upset came against Baylor, a game in which the Longhorns won 23-17, and starting quarterback Sam Ehlinger went down with a shoulder sprain.

The Longhorns have a bye week next which works great for getting Ehlinger back on the field.

So far this season Ehlinger has thrown for 1,534 yards, 11 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and he has put up those totals with a 65% completion rate.

These are good numbers as Ehlinger has been playing well for a Texas team that’s 6-1 and hasn’t lost since week one vs Maryland. The Longhorns will be looking to take this momentum all the way to the Big 12 Championship game and a potential College Football Playoff berth.

Only time will tell what’s in store for Tom Herman’s Texas club.
