Wayne Davis- Lake Taylor (Norfolk, VA)

Size: 5’11”- 187 lbs.

Position- CB (#33 CB, four stars)

Ohio State put themselves into solid position for Davis early in his recruitment, and he announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on July 9th, 2015.

Urban Meyer was again able to take one of the DMV’s best prospects away from Virginia Tech. He also gave Michigan serious consideration.

Davis is a true corner, and his game is well rounded. He has the size to be physical in press-man coverage, but also has the speed to run with any burners he might matchup against.

Those close to Davis rave about not only his physical tools, but his mental make up. He thrives on competition, which there will be plenty of when he arrives on campus.

Like Felder, Davis is going to join a deep competition for spots on the two-deep roster. He certainly fits the bill for everything Urban Meyer is looking for in his cornerbacks, though, which may keep him away from redshirting this upcoming season.

Do not be surprised to see Davis as a contributor on special teams, which is almost a prerequisite for players before they take the next step.
