Urban Meyer may have finally found the perfect formula at quarterback. Meyer did a great job of keeping the defense on their heals by inserting Barrett in the game in the redzone. Barrett proved to be the spark Ohio State needed to get the offense into the endzone. He finished with 62 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. J.T. also had a huge 26 yard completion to 3rd and 16 to Thomas that led to a touchdown a few players later.

Cardale Jones had by far his best game this season. He was 21 for 28 with 291 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jones showed off his arm strength multiple times throughout the day. This was the first time he looked like the guy that led the Buckeyes to the championship last season.

We know that Maryland has a bad defense, but you do have to like the way Meyer used both quarterbacks. Saturday afternoon was the first time we saw both quarterbacks being used the way we envisioned them being used before the season. We’ll see how this formula does against a much better defense next week against Penn State.
