The Ohio State football program had a lot of success in recruiting its 2020 class, ranking No.1 in the Big Ten and No. 5 in the entire country.

We all know how successful Ryan Day and the Ohio State football program were in recruiting for the 2020 class as the Buckeyes had the top class in the Big Ten and the fifth-best in class in the entire country, according to 247Sports.

They really had a lot of success in recruiting the quarterback position.

In an article written by Rivals’ Mike Farrell, he ranked the best 1-2 punches at the quarterback position and his No. 1-ranked 1-2 punch was Ohio State’s.

The Buckeyes are bringing in CJ Stroud and Jack Miller for the 2020 class. Both young men are four-star recruits according to both 247Sports and Rivals. Additionally, Stroud is the second-best recruit at his position in the entire country, according to 247Sports, and Miller is the 13th-best. According to Rivals, Stroud is the third-best at his position while Miller is the 16th-best.

They are both pro-style quarterbacks with excellent potential.

Here is what Farrell said about Ohio State’s 1-2 punch.

"Stroud and Miller are both excellent signal callers. Stroud is more mobile and can make more happen, but Miller is an excellent passer with great downfield touch."

Once Justin Fields moves on to the NFL – which I think we all think it will be next year after his junior season – Day and the Buckeyes will have quite the quarterback battle between two of the top QBs in the country.

Stroud has a little more athleticism at his disposal as he ran a 4.85 40-yard dash last year, according to 247Sports, while Miller ran a 5.05-second 40. They both have solid size though as Rivals has Stroud listed at six-four, 192 pounds, and has Miller at six-four, 210 pounds. I think it will all come down to who can put Ohio State’s talented receiving core in the best position to have success.

Both of these guys can be excellent in college and will have great receivers to work with in Garrett Wilson and fellow 2020 signee Julian Fleming. The Buckeyes have a bright future no matter who ends up being the starter.
