Here is a look at Ohio State kicker Blake Haubeil’s stats last year and a prediction on how he will perform this season.

Last year’s Ohio State kicker Sean Nuernberger  is now at Cincinnati for law school. The Buckeyes will now depend on a player who primarily has been used on kickoffs, although at the end of the season he stepped in for Nuernberger on field goals when he was injured.

That kicker is Blake Haubeil, a junior and two-time Letterman winner.  As a high school recruit he was ranked the No. 4 kicker in the 2017 class and was named to the USA Today all-USA first team offense as a senior according to the Ohio State football website.

Haubeil went to Canisius high school in Buffalo, New York. He also set a Monsignor Martin Athletic Association record by hitting 56-of-56 extra points.

His first season he was used mostly on kickoffs but last season Haubeil began kicking extra points/field goals midway through.  He converted 10 out of 13 field goals and made all of his extra points (37).

Haubeil’s longest field goal was a 47 yarder against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He also kicked a pair of field goals in the big 62-39 win over rival Michigan.

Going into this season, it’s all Haubeil by the looks of things and he is ready for another great season.  Look for him to make all of his extra points again, have around 55-60 touchbacks and if needed possibly hit a game winning field goal or two.

Haubeil could have chances to do so with big games the Buckeyes have on tap this season.  We will see what happens, and if my predictions will become true or not.
