We are now just two days away from the moment when the Ohio State Buckeyes will take the field against the Navy Midshipmen, and as we know, instead of Braxton Miller manning the offense under center, it will be redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett. Following the season-ending shoulder injury to Miller, Barrett was anointed the starter.
Of course, there are a lot of people worrying about the youngster and how he will perform, but Ed Warriner is not one of them.
In speaking to the media recently, Warriner noted that Barrett’s demeanor is nothing to worry about right now.
“He’s a cool cucumber in there,” Warinner said. “He’s calm, he’s cool.”
Warriner then spoke about how comfortable Barrett really is with everything.
“I think he’s settled in and he’s real comfortable,” Warinner said. “I think the players have great respect for him and they see his playmaking ability and his execution ability. So, I think the whole team has rallied around him. I think he’s in a good place and I think we’re in a good place with him.”
We’ll see on Saturday just how comfortable Barrett really is with everything, but it’s nice to hear the confidence come through from someone like Warrine.
