The Ohio State football season is four days away from getting kicked off, and on Monday, head coach Urban Meyer announced the five captains that will represent this team as they begin their march toward a potential national championship.
And in a gesture that everyone absolutely loves to see, injured starting quarterback Braxton Miller, who will miss the entire season with a shoulder injury, is among the captains that will be representing this team.
Congrats to Braxton Miller, Jeff Heuerman, Michael Bennett, Curtis Grant, and Doran Grant on being voted as the 2014 captains. Great honor!

While Miller won’t be on the field with the team at all this season, that doesn’t mean that he isn’t unquestionably one of the leaders of this team, if not the most important one. As we saw throughout spring ball, Braxton is the same thing as having another coach on the field, and it will be great to have him around to help J.T. Barrett as he tries to lead this team through the upcoming season.
As for the other four, all of them are key contributors to this program that have the realization that the road to a championship will be paved by them playing as well as they ever have before.
In all, not a better group of captains could have been picked for this season.
