Ohio State QB Braxton Miller set for shoulder surgery on Monday

Unfortunately we learned this past week that the Ohio State Buckeyes will be without starting quarterback Braxton Miller this season after he re-injured his shoulder in practice on Monday. After that, he did announce that he will be returning to the team in 2015, and his road to getting back on the field in Columbus eventually will begin soon.

On Sunday, Miller shared this photo below on his Instagram account, noting that he will be heading for surgery on the shoulder on Monday morning.

He provided this caption along with the picture.

Wish I wasn’t on this jet for Surgery in the AM , pray for ya boy.

Indeed, everyone will be praying for both a successful procedure on Monday morning, as well as a speedy recovery for the former Heisman hopeful as he heads out on the journey toward his eventual triumphant return to the field.

In as you have not heard yet, starting in Miller’s place this season will be redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett, who earned the chance at the backup job during camp the past few weeks. The Buckeyes will begin their 2014 season next Saturday against Navy in Baltimore, and that is where we will get out first look at what Barrett brings to the table.
