Kenny Guiton on J.T. Barrett filling in for Braxton Miller: There will be pressure

While not knocking J.T. Barrett by any means, there’s no doubt that some fans would feel a lot more comfortable with the Braxton Miller injury situation if Kenny Guiton were still around. When Miller went down last season, the Buckeyes could not have asked for a better replacement, and he knows what’s facing Barrett this season.

Now with the L.A. Kiss of the Arena Football League, Guiton spoke a bit about the situation that Barrett, a redshirt freshman, is being thrust into, while also pointing out how he can come out of this just fine.

“It definitely is more pressure,” Guiton, who spent the season playing for the LA Kiss in the Arena Football League, said by phone on Wednesday. “You’re backing up a guy who is a Heisman hopeful, a guy that has all the awards and everything, and that’s something that you love, you cherish that.

“I felt blessed because I got to go in for a guy that the world looks at as a Heisman guy, a world-class quarterback. There will be pressure, but if you go into the game not thinking about anything else, focused on his offense, his team, his coaching staff, you’ll be just fine.”
