After his experience at Friday Night Lights, the Ohio State Buckeyes jumped to the top of the list for 5-star quarterback Torrance Gibson. One of the selling points was the good time that he had with Braxton Miller, who could now end up being his teammate when he arrives in Columbus.
It was officially announced on Tuesday that Miller would miss the 2014 season following a shoulder injury suffered on Monday. However, Miller also made it known that he intends on returning in 2015, rather than heading off to the NFL.
Well, needless to say, the possibility of being mentored by Miller is very intriguing to the potential Ohio State target.
“Being mentored by Braxton Miller, that’d be pretty awesome,” Gibson told cleveland.com during a phone interview Tuesday night. “Being mentored by one of the best quarterbacks that ever came to Ohio State, man that would be something. It would be great if I decided to go to Ohio State.”
Should Miller stick to his word and return, and should Gibson ultimately choose the Buckeyes when it comes decision time, then Gibson really couldn’t ask for a better situation to walk into.
As he strives to one day make his mark in Columbus, he could have some help from someone in Miller who has made one of the biggest marks ever on the program.
