Ryan Shazier impresses in NFL debut with Pittsburgh Steelers

We had to wait an extra week, but on Saturday night we were finally treated to the NFL debut of former Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they took on the Buffalo Bills.

And boy, did Shazier impress the masses in his first game of NFL action.

In his debut with the Steelers, Shazier recorded nine tackles and an interception, showing that he is indeed ready to start in the vaunted Pittsburgh defense. He has been lauded throughout camp, and he proved his worth on Saturday night.

After the game was over, veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons had nothing but praise for his new defensive teammate.

“His pass coverage is awesome,” Timmons added, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “You saw the tackles; he was making tackles left and right. He has the pedigree. He has all the talent and the intangibles you want in an inside linebacker.”

This really was about as good of a debut as you can possibly have on the defensive side of the ball, and there’s no doubt that the people of Pittsburgh can be nothing but happy with their new beast.

The journey of Ryan Shazier through his NFL career should be nothing but enjoying to watch.
