College Football News: Notre Dame under investigation for academic fraud

It appears as if, each and every year when the college football season approaches, some school gets caught up in some sort of scandal. Well on Friday we got our scandal for the 2014 season, and if you haven’t heard already, the school in the spotlight of this one may surprise you.

On Friday, it was revealed that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program is under investigation for academic fraud allegedly committed by four key players on the team. Those players have since been removed from one of the most storied programs in college football history.

According to Blue and Gold Illustrated, the four players in question are indeed key pieces of this team.

A foursome of Notre Dame veterans was not seen leaving the Irish practice field Friday afternoon. Cornerback KeiVarae Russell, defensive end Ishaq Williams, linebacker Kendall Moore and wide receiver DaVaris Daniels were not among the players who exited the LaBar Practice Field Friday.

Notre Dame did not respond to questions about their absence. The Irish are planning to host a practice open to faculty and media Saturday morning.
