Ohio State Football: Tracy Sprinkle reinstated; Will be suspended for Navy game

Well it looks as if the strange, controversial saga involving Ohio State redshirt freshman Tracy Sprinkle has come to an end, and that end has involved him being reinstated to the Buckeyes football team after the outlandish charges against him stemming from a bar fight were dropped.

In speaking to the media, head coach Urban Meyer explained a little more about the decision to let Sprinkle back.

“He was dismissed because of an arrest and some bad words was involved like cocaine or something like that and it was all dropped,” Meyer said. “And he was drug tested and (there was our own investigation) that goes back six months, and if anything would have shown up, he’s dismissed.”

Meyer also did go on to say that, while he is back with the team now that the process has finished up, he will not be eligible to participate in the opener against Navy later this month.

As always, we’re interested to know what your thoughts are on this situation. Was it a good idea to give Sprinkle the second chance, even though the charges were dropped?
